AIM Auction
February, 2023

A super fun event in collaboration with AIM PPLE. But this wasn’t your regular charity auction – the board of AIM decided to help us raise money for our project REPTA, by completing different, mostly funny and embarrassing, challenges. There were legs being waxed, whipped cream smashed in faces and beer chugging competition.

Thanks to the brave committee of AIM, REPTA’s constructions were supported with a €150 to build and create a sanitary environment for children at the local primary school. Their lavatories and hand washing stations are expected to be implemented by the end of summer 2023.

You can check out our video of the event on our Instagram.

Before Christmas, from 19-25th of December we held Tikkie Week to raise money for REPTA (our project in Cameroon), to build new latrines and hand washing stations for children in Mousgouy. By the end of the week we managed to raise €245. We added all money that we raised to the fund for REPTA, so children can have a sanitary environment at school. Thank you all for your support!🤎

On December 9th we had a bake sale in collaboration with AIM, the study association of the PPLE faculty at the UvA. The board members of AIM brought delicious home made cakes and sweets to the event. What is more, Irmak, our chairwoman baked her famous triple chocolate cookies. Yum!

We raised €300 euros at the event and we would like to thank everyone the support. Special thank you to AIM for organising the sale!

All money raised goes to Repta, another project of ours in Cameroon.

Students could come by during the day, browse among the garments, have some nice chats and get some cool pieces. All items were donations from students and anything that was not sold at the event were donated to charity after.

Our board had a lot of fun setting up and taking part in the event. We are super happy we had the opportunity to collaborate with Pegasus and we are grateful for all their effort! We raised over €600 with the clothes sale – we couldn’t be happier, thank you all for the support! All money raised goes to ISUDEV, our project in Cameroon.

Pub Quiz
May, 2022

On Tuesday, May 3rd we organised a Pub Quiz event which a local café, Café de Jeugd, was generous enough to host for us. We tested our audience’s knowledge on actualities, sports, music and geography which created a great buzz and excitement in the room. We congratulate to our winning team, the bierpakket and branded glasses were well deserved! 🙂

We are also very thankful for everyone who made it to our pub quiz and supported our organisation! We managed to raise just over €500 with this event. We are super grateful to our donors, thank you all!

Valentine’s Day Rose Sale + Borrel with SES!
March, 2022

For Valentine’s Day, we decided to collaborate with Study association European Studies (SES), as they throw a yearly Valentine’s Day borrel. Together we organized a rose sale, of which the proceeds were donated to SfC. The students could either simply get a rose for someone else, or get a rose with a card as well. The roses were eventually handed out at the borrel, to friends, lovers, or people they just wanted to thank. The roses, about 80 of them, were graciously donated by EZ Flowers who have worked with SfC in the past as well. We ended up selling about 60 roses!

We would like to thank EZ Flowers for donating the roses and SES for donating their proceeds to us. All funds raised from the event will be used to sponsor one of our current projects.

Crafting self-sufficient villages with Kiem Montessori
February, 2020

We gave a presentation and class exercise at Kiem Montessori on 25th February about our work as Students for Children. Kiem Montessori is a very creative school, the kids have access to a creative working space, where they can create their own creativities during the week for school purposes. We asked the children to craft self-sufficient towns based on countries where our projects are located. Particularly, they had to consider how people create their living in the countries like in Uganda, India or Honduras. The kids had to brainstorm about water use, electricity and their budget for creating a self-sufficient village.

Students for Children organizes events to collect money for educational projects. The events are mainly focused on students as this target group is easy to reach through the network of the board members.

Partnerships

Students for Children collaborates with various partners. For instance, every year Students for Children organizes diverse school campaigns in which we raise awareness about our work and raise funds for projects.

Donations

Besides organizing events and teaming up with partners, Students for Children can count on financial supporters who donate on a monthly basis as well as one-off donations.
